| August 28, 2009 | Sharon Stone chills out in Sardinia as racy Paris photoshoot pics hit the shelves |
She hit headlines recently after pictures of her raunchy photoshoot for a French fashion magazine surfaced, but it looked as if the storm the snaps caused was the last thing on Sharon Stone‘s mind this week. The Basic Instinct beauty was in chill mode as she joined friends for dinner in the upmarket Italian resort of Porto Cervo, Sardinia. She arrived on the Italian isle on Wednesday for an end of summer break. While much has been made of the mum of three’s decision to strip off for the cameras at the age of 51, Sharon says she shouldn’t have to restrict what she does just because she’s getting older. | August 25, 2009 | Sharon Stone strips at 51, star says ‘nudity is no big thing’ |
Like wine, Sharon Stone admits to getting better with time – Or just not worrying about it. No body image issues for the “Basic Instinct” star, Sharon Stone, as she strips down to nudity for the cover of a magazine. The Hollywood actress was reported in Newsoftheworld.co.uk that she had no problems taking off her clothes, even at age 51. The mother of three said, “If someone is shocked they should ask themselves why they have that attitude.” When asked if she would do it again onscreen, Sharon Stone said she has no apprehensions about baring it all on the big screen. “I feel that nudity is no big thing if it’s appropriate for the character,” she said. So for her role in the magazine photo shoot, we’ll see how this plays out. [Source] |

| August 25, 2009 | Sharon Stone: Topless at 51, proud of it |
Sharon Stone has defended her right to pose topless in a racy spread at the age of 51, insisting it’s not just youthful actresses who should be allowed to strip off. The Basic Instinct star has bared all for the cover of French fashion bible Paris Match, sporting nothing but bondage heels and underwear for the provocative shoot. And the actress remains adamant she has every right to show off her body without facing harsh criticism about her age. She tells the magazine, “Is there an age when you’re supposed to refrain from doing some things like showing your body? If someone is shocked by these photos that’s a reflection on his own views on age. “What these photos represent is nothing surprising to me, my life didn’t change at 50, I didn’t change. I don’t see where the provocation is. If I asked myself I probably wouldn’t have done these photos as I don’t consider myself provocative.” [Source] |

| August 21, 2009 | Sharon Stone gives Arts for ACT auction a jump |
10:11 p.m. updateTonight’s Arts for ACT auction raised an estimated $200,000 for domestic-violence shelters and other services in Southwest Florida, organizers announced at the end of the Estero fundraiser. That estimated total < including the official tally of $178,417 for the artwork sold at the live and silent auctions < was about $75,000 less than the $275,000 brought in last year. Money from the raffle, sponsors and other sources haven’t been added up yet. Organizers had hoped for $500,000 this year, but Jennifer Benton — CEO for Abuse Counseling Treatment, Inc. — said she was still thankful for the money. “Its’s not that bad, considering the economy.” Tonight’s event was hosted by actors Sharon Stone and Jesse Metcalfe. The live auction featured about 55 pieces of art by local and national artists, plus another 102 pieces in the silent auction. Some pieces sold for only a few hundred dollars. Others quickly went into the thousands. A signed Rauschenberg print (“Lotus Bed I, 2008”) brought the highest bid at $35,000. It was the last auction item of the evening at 9:45 p.m. Stone even sold one of her own abstract paintings, which went for $25,000 (thanks to well-known artist Darryl Pottorf, who also sold an art-retreat weekend and a painting he did with Stone for $23,000). Plus Pottorf bid $25,000 on a 2007 lithograph by Frank Gehry. Read the rest of this entry » |

| August 13, 2009 | Actress Sharon Stone added as co-host for Arts for ACT |
Actress Sharon Stone returns Saturday to host the annual Arts for ACT auction for the third time, organizers said today. This time, however, Stone will be co-hosting the event with actor Jesse Metcalfe, most famous for playing gardener John Rowland on the TV show “Desperate Housewives.” The auction has never had more than one celebrity auctioneer at once, says ACT CEO Jennifer Benton. Metcalfe was confirmed months ago, but Stone — a friend of Benton’s brother — volunteered Sunday to join the fun. “She likes us,” Benton explains. Stone appeared at Arts for ACT in 1999 and 2005.
